Welcome to Mapscape Tutorials
Mapscape software is designed for ease of use; our aim is to enable you and your team to work with minimal training.
In these ‘How To’ video’s – aspects of the software features that are best explained with a video will be displayed here.
Should you need any assistance with any of features, contact us as we are here to help.
Use What3Words for Tree Location(s)
Finding a specific tree in dense woodland or a large garden can be a real challenge for field crews. By combining what3words with Mapscape, you remove the guesswork for office teams, contractors and sub-contractors.
When a client or member of the public provides a what3words address, it places a precise 3-metre pin directly onto your map, allowing the asset to be logged quickly without chasing clearer directions.
The biggest benefit comes when passing work on. Instead of vague descriptions or broad site maps, contractors receive three simple words and can walk straight to the correct tree, saving time and helping ensure the right work is completed on the right tree.
Zero guesswork → Reliable search tool → Happy sub-contractors
2. How to Print PDF Scale Site Plans
This ‘How To’ guide shows you how to turn the Desktop PC screen image into a scale site plan e.g. 1:500
The scale site plan is created by using the Print option, which is a blue button on the main menu at the bottom of the screen.
3. Adding URL Datasets
In this How To guide, by using the Add Data feature, you will learn how to access the ESRI UK Living Atlas and add a Habitat classification dataset produced by Natural England.
You can build your own library of datasets as part of your geospatial planning for as an example research for tree species selection in tree planting plans.
